Product Specific Information

• This antibody shows less than 0.5% cross-reactivity with porcine albumin and immunoglobulins.
• Reconstitute with 0.5 mL of distilled water or saline.
• Store at 4°C prior to reconstitution. After reconstitution, store undiluted at -20°C, avoiding freeze/thaw cycles.
• Rabbit anti-porcine collagen I/III antibody reacts with native and heat-denatured porcine collagen type I and III.

Target Information

Type I collagen is a fibrillar collagen found in most connective tissues and is the only collagen component found in cartilage.
Mutations in this gene are associated with osteogenesis imperfecta, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, and idiopathic osteoporosis.
Reciprocal translocations between chromosomes 17 and 22, involving this gene and the gene for platelet-derived growth factor beta, are linked to dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans, a type of skin tumor caused by unregulated growth factor expression.
Two transcripts resulting from alternate polyadenylation signals have been identified for this gene.
