This antibody detects endogenous levels of total PKM2.
Target Information
PKM2 (pyruvate kinase M2) catalyzes the conversion of phosphoenolpyruvate from pyruvate and ATP. It interacts with thyroid hormone and may mediate metabolic effects induced by thyroid hormones. PKM2 also binds Opa protein, a bacterial outer membrane protein involved in gonococcal adherence and invasion, suggesting a role in bacterial pathogenesis. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding two distinct isoforms have been reported.
