Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of MARCKS only when phosphorylated at Ser27.
Target Information
MARCKS is a substrate for protein kinase C and is localized to the plasma membrane as an actin filament crosslinking protein. Phosphorylation by protein kinase C or binding to calcium-calmodulin inhibits its association with actin and the plasma membrane, leading to cytoplasmic localization. This protein is implicated in cell motility, phagocytosis, membrane trafficking, and mitogenesis.
