Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
CD47 (integrin-associated protein, IAP) is a ubiquitously expressed cell surface transmembrane glycoprotein that interacts with several integrins and regulates their functions. Engagement of CD47 modulates signaling pathways, including activation of heterotrimeric G proteins and increases intracellular calcium concentration upon cell adhesion.
It serves as a receptor for thrombospondin’s C-terminal cell binding domain and plays roles in membrane transport and signal transduction. CD47 expression is broad across tissues but reduced on Rh erythrocytes.
CD47 acts as a ligand for CD172a (SIRP alpha), an immune inhibitory receptor on macrophages, preventing phagocytosis of CD47-positive cells. This system influences cell migration, B cell adhesion, T cell activation, chondrocyte mechanical response modulation, and neuronal development, especially in synapse-rich brain and retina regions.
