Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of about 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
CD47 (integrin-associated protein, IAP) is a ubiquitously expressed cell surface transmembrane glycoprotein that interacts with several integrins to regulate their functions. Engagement of CD47 modulates signaling pathways, including activation of heterotrimeric G proteins, and increases intracellular calcium concentration upon cell adhesion.
CD47 also acts as a receptor for the C-terminal cell binding domain of thrombospondin, playing roles in membrane transport and signal transduction. It shows broad tissue distribution and reduced expression on Rh erythrocytes.
CD47 serves as a ligand for CD172a (SIRP alpha), an inhibitory receptor on macrophages, preventing phagocytosis of CD47-positive cells. The CD47-CD172a system influences cell migration, B-cell adhesion, T-cell activation, chondrocyte responses to mechanical signals, and promotes neuronal development, especially in synapse-rich regions of the brain and retina.
