Preparation: Produced in BALB/c mice immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human MIP-1alpha (CCL3). Anti-Human MIP-1alpha (CCL3)-specific antibody was purified from cell culture by Protein G affinity chromatography.

Sandwich ELISA: Assuming 100 µL/well, a concentration of 2.0-4.0 µg/mL of this antibody will detect at least 2000 pg/mL of Recombinant Human MIP-1alpha (CCL3) when used with PeproTech Biotinylated Antigen Affinity Purified Anti-Human MIP-1alpha (CCL3) (500-P38GBT) as the detection antibody at a concentration of approximately 1.0-2.0 µg/mL.

Western Blot: To detect Human MIP-1alpha (CCL3) by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 2.0-4.0 µg/mL. When used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for Recombinant Human MIP-1alpha (CCL3) is 1.0-2.0 ng/lane, under non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Both MIP-1alpha and MIP-1beta are structurally and functionally related CC chemokines. They participate in host response to invading bacterial, viral, parasite and fungal pathogens by regulating the trafficking and activation state of selected subgroups of inflammatory cells (e.g. macrophages, lymphocytes and NK cells). While both MIP-1alpha and MIP-1beta exert similar effects on monocytes, their effect on lymphocytes differ; with MIP-1alpha selectively attracting CD8+ lymphocytes, and MIP-1beta selectively attracting CD4+ lymphocytes. Additionally, MIP-1alpha and MIP-1beta have also been shown to be potent chemoattractants for B cells, eosinophils and dendritic cells. Both human and murine MIP-1alpha and MIP-1beta are active on human and murine hematopoietic cells.
