Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Murine IL-2. Anti-Murine IL-2-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Murine IL-2 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Murine IL-2 (500-P111) as a capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Murine IL-2.

Western Blot:
To detect mIL-2 by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant mIL-2 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Interleukin 2 (IL-2) is an immuno-modulatory cytokine crucial for the proliferation of activated T cells, differentiation of B cells, natural killer cells, monocytes, and macrophages. IL-2 signals through the IL-2 receptor (IL-2R), a heterotrimeric protein complex whose gamma chain is shared by IL-4 and IL-7. The monoallelic expression of IL-2 in mature thymocytes represents an unusual regulatory mode for precise gene expression. Disruption of an IL-2-like gene in mice leads to an ulcerative colitis-like disease, indicating its essential role in immune responses to antigenic stimuli.
