- Specificity: The antibody is specific to human DR5 and does not bind other TRAIL receptors, other members of the TNF-receptor superfamily, or the murine homolog of DR5.
Target Information
DR5 (Apo2, TRAIL-R2, TRICK2, KILLER) is a death domain-containing receptor for TRAIL that mediates TRAIL-induced apoptosis.
It belongs to the TNF-receptor superfamily and transduces apoptosis signals upon activation by TNFSF10/TRAIL/APO-2L.
FADD, a death domain-containing adaptor protein, is required for DR5-mediated apoptosis.
Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms and one non-coding transcript are known.
Overexpression of DR5 induces apoptosis and activates NF-κB.
DR5 is expressed in various cell types, especially in lymphocytes and spleen.
Diseases associated with DR5 dysfunction include squamous cell carcinoma and diffuse infiltrative lymphocytosis syndrome.
