This antibody is specific for Herpes Virus Entry Mediator (HVEM, TR2), a type I transmembrane protein of the TNF-receptor superfamily.

Target Information

TNFRSF14 is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily and acts as a cellular mediator of herpes simplex virus (HSV) entry. HSV envelope glycoprotein D (gD) binds to TNFRSF14 as part of the viral entry mechanism.
The cytoplasmic region of TNFRSF14 interacts with TRAF family members, mediating signal transduction pathways that activate immune responses.
Activation of TNFRSF14 in T cells promotes proliferation and cytokine production, enhancing inflammation and CTL-mediated tumor immunity.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described, though some full-length forms remain undetermined.
