Specificity: This antibody is specific for B and T lymphocyte attenuator (BTLA), which functions as a negative regulator of T cell activation and proliferation, and attenuates B cell proliferation upon associating with its known ligand, herpes virus entry mediator (HVEM).
Target Information
BTLA (B and T-lymphocyte attenuator) is a member of the co-inhibitory receptors of the CD28 superfamily. It acts as a lymphocyte inhibitory receptor that downregulates immune responses. BTLA is constitutively expressed on most CD4+ and CD8+ T cells, with expression decreasing upon T cell activation. It remains expressed on Th1 cells but not Th2 cells. BTLA interacts with HVEM, a TNF receptor superfamily member, forming a key regulatory pathway for lymphocyte activation and immune homeostasis.
