MA1-414 detects phospho-progesterone receptor (pSer294) from human samples.
It has been successfully used in Western blot, ELISA, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and immunoprecipitation procedures.
By Western blot, this antibody detects approximately 81 kDa and 116 kDa proteins representing phospho-progesterone receptor (pSer294) A and B from T47D cell extract.
The immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues P(288) M A P G R S(p) P L A T T V(300) of human Progesterone Receptor.
Target Information
The progesterone receptor (PR) belongs to the steroid family of nuclear receptors and mediates physiological effects of progesterone, crucial for reproductive processes and pregnancy maintenance.
PR exists as two forms: a 94 kDa protein (Form A) and a 120 kDa protein (Form B), resulting from alternative translation initiation.
PR-B is transcriptionally active, promoting gene expression for endometrial maintenance and ovulation inhibition.
PR-A lacks 165 amino acids at the N-terminus, exposing an inhibitory domain that represses steroid hormone transcriptional activity.
Inactive PgR forms a multiprotein complex with heat shock proteins and immunophilins. Upon progesterone binding, conformational changes enable dimerization and binding to progesterone response elements (PRE), activating transcription.
Null mutations in the PGR gene lead to reproductive abnormalities.
