MA1-43000 detects Factor V in human and bovine samples.
It has successfully been used in radioimmune assays and inhibition assay applications.
MA1-43000 was derived from human factor V/Va.
Target Information
Coagulation factor V (Proaccelerin) is an essential component of the blood coagulation cascade.
It circulates in plasma and is converted to its active form by thrombin, generating heavy and light chains held together by calcium ions.
Active Factor V acts as a cofactor with activated Factor X to convert prothrombin to thrombin.
Defects in the Factor V gene may cause conditions such as Factor V deficiency, thrombophilia (activated protein C resistance), Budd-Chiari syndrome, ischemic stroke, and recurrent pregnancy loss.
