In direct ELISAs and Western blots, approximately 25% cross-reactivity with recombinant canine CD4 is observed and 5% cross-reactivity with recombinant human CD4 and recombinant mouse CD4 is observed.
Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.

Target Information

The CD4 antigen is involved in the recognition of MHC class II molecules and acts as a co-receptor for HIV. CD4 is primarily expressed in T helper cells but may also be found in monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells.
At the tissue level, CD4 expression can be detected in thymus, lymph nodes, tonsils, spleen, and specific regions of the brain and gut.
CD4 contributes to early T-cell activation through association with the T-cell receptor complex and protein tyrosine kinase Lck, and may mediate neuronal damage in infectious and immune-mediated CNS diseases.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts have been identified in this gene (RefSeq, July 2017).
