For FACS analysis, use 10 µL of the suggested working dilution to label 1×10⁶ cells in 100 µL.
Target Information
The CD4 antigen is involved in the recognition of MHC class II molecules and serves as a co-receptor for HIV. CD4 is primarily expressed in T helper cells but can also be found in monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells.
At the tissue level, CD4 expression is observed in thymus, lymph nodes, tonsils, spleen, and certain regions of the brain and gut.
CD4 aids in T-cell activation through interaction with the T-cell receptor complex and tyrosine kinase Lck, and may mediate neuronal damage in infectious or immune-mediated CNS diseases.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts have been identified (RefSeq, July 2017).
