CD43 (leukosialin, sialophorin)은 대부분의 조혈세포 표면에 발현되는 음전하가 높은 막관통성 뮤신 유사 단백질입니다.
CD43은 세포 부착을 방해하는 반발 장벽을 형성하지만, 특정 상황에서는 백혈구 응집을 촉진하기도 합니다.
Ezrin 및 Moesin과의 상호작용을 통해 T세포 형태 변화와 림프구 이동 중 세포 간 상호작용을 조절합니다.
CD43 신호는 LFA-1의 접착성을 강화하며, 다른 수용체를 통한 LFA-1 유도에 반대 작용을 할 수 있습니다.
CD43 발현은 기능적으로 활성화된 종양 억제 단백질 p53을 유도하지만, p53과 ARF가 결핍된 경우에는 종양 증식과 생존을 촉진합니다.
CD43은 백혈구 기능의 중요한 조절 인자로 작용하며, Wiscott-Aldrich Syndrome 및 Adenoid Basal Cell Carcinoma와 관련이 있습니다.
