Product Specific Information
- 1 µg/mL of MA5-45190 was sufficient for detection of HSC70 in 10 µg of HeLa lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
- Detects approximately 73 kDa.
- Does not cross-react with HSP70.
Target Information
The HSP70 family consists of highly conserved proteins induced by various biological stresses, including heat stress, across different organisms.
Human HSP70 family members include:
- HSP70: Strongly inducible and constitutively expressed in primate cells.
- HSP72: Induced exclusively under stress conditions (72 kDa).
- HSC70 (HSC71, HSC73, HSP73, p72, prp73): Constitutively expressed, slightly heat-inducible, involved in clathrin-coated vesicle uncoating and cytoskeletal rearrangement.
- GRP78 (BiP): 78 kDa, localized in the endoplasmic reticulum.
- p75 (HSP75): 75 kDa, found in mitochondria.
HSC70 binds clathrin light chains to promote vesicle uncoating, interacts with the cytoskeleton to facilitate rearrangements, and stimulates lysosomal degradation of intracellular proteins. It also retards aggregation and folding of mitochondrial precursor proteins in vitro.
