Product Specific Information
- 1 µg/mL of MA5-45189 detects HSC70 in 10 µg of HeLa lysate by colorimetric immunoblot using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP secondary antibody.
- Detects approximately 73 kDa.
- Does not cross-react with HSP70.
Target Information
The HSP70 family consists of highly conserved proteins induced by various biological stresses, including heat shock, across many organisms.
Human HSP70 family members include:
- HSP70: Strongly inducible and constitutively expressed in primate cells
- HSP72: 72 kDa, stress-inducible
- HSC70 (HSC71, HSC73, HSP73, p72, prp73): 72 kDa, constitutively expressed, involved in clathrin-coated vesicle uncoating
- GRP78 (BiP): 78 kDa, ER-localized glucose-regulated protein
- p75 (HSP75): 75 kDa, mitochondrial localization
HSC70 binds to clathrin light chain loops to promote vesicle uncoating and interacts with the cytoskeleton, facilitating rearrangements. It also stimulates lysosomal degradation of intracellular proteins and modulates mitochondrial precursor protein folding.
