Target Information
CD127 (Interleukin-7 receptor alpha, IL-7Rα) is a glycoprotein involved in the regulation of lymphopoiesis. The active receptor is a heterodimer composed of an alpha and a gamma chain. The gamma(c) chain, also shared with the interleukin-2 receptor, mediates signal transduction, while the alpha chain determines specific signaling events through cytoplasmic signaling molecule interactions.
CD127 promotes proliferation of precursor B cells, thymocytes, T cell progenitors, and mature CD4⁺ and CD8⁺ T cells. Dysfunctions in CD127 are associated with severe combined immunodeficiency, including T cell negative/B cell negative/NK positive forms.
