Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. Antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned, and individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information

G protein-coupled receptor GPR49 (LGR5) is expressed in brain, skeletal muscle, placenta, and spinal cord. ESTs have been isolated from normal human brain (amygdala), embryo, and placenta libraries as well as from germ cell, uterus, and brain libraries.
G-protein Coupled Receptors (GPCRs) are one of the largest families of signaling molecules, sharing a structural motif of seven membrane-spanning helices and existing in both active and inactive forms. Ligand binding induces conformational changes leading to signaling via G-proteins and downstream effectors.
Studies on GPCR regulation have significant implications for cellular physiology and pharmacology, driving the development of GPCR-targeted drugs such as Zyprexa and Claritin.
