SRC는 다양한 세포 표면 수용체의 세포질 영역과 결합하여 신호 전달을 매개하며, 세포골격 구성, 세포주기 조절, 세포자멸사에도 관여합니다.
인간에서 SRC 유전자는 염색체 20번에 위치하며, 두 개의 티로신 잔기(Tyr416, Tyr527)에 의해 활성이 조절됩니다.
Tyr416의 인산화는 효소 활성을 증가시키고, Tyr527의 인산화는 활성을 억제합니다.
SRC 유전자의 돌연변이는 대장암의 악성 진행과 관련이 있을 수 있습니다.
지금까지 동일한 SRC 단백질을 암호화하는 두 가지 전사 변이가 보고되었습니다.
