Target Information
Histone H3 is a DNA-binding protein found in chromatin of all eukaryotic cells. Together with other core histones, it forms the nucleosome structure. Histone H3 plays key roles in transcription regulation, DNA repair, replication, and chromosomal stability.
The N-terminal tail of histone H3 undergoes various post-translational modifications such as methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation, influencing chromatin structure and gene expression.
