Target Information
Thyroid Peroxidase는 막 결합형 당단백질을 암호화하는 유전자로, 갑상선의 정상적인 기능에 필수적인 효소입니다. 이 단백질은 thyroglobulin의 티로신 잔기의 요오드화 및 요오드화된 티로신 쌍 간의 페녹시 에스터 결합 형성을 담당하여, 티록신(T4) 및 트리요오드티로닌(T3)과 같은 갑상선 호르몬의 생성을 유도합니다.
이 유전자의 돌연변이는 선천성 갑상선 기능저하증, 선천성 갑상선종, 갑상선 호르몬 유기화 결함 IIA 등 갑상선 호르몬 생성 관련 질환과 연관되어 있습니다. 여러 전사 변이체가 보고되었으며, 일부의 전체 길이는 아직 규명되지 않았습니다.
