Target Information

HDAC3, a member of the histone deacetylase family, possesses deacetylase activity and represses transcription when tethered to a promoter. It interacts with the zinc-finger transcription factor YY1 and can down-regulate p53 function, influencing cell growth and apoptosis. HDAC3 is considered a potential tumor suppressor gene.
