Mature human IL-2 was expressed in Pichia pastoris X-33 (GenBank Accession # NP_000577, amino acids 21–153).
The expressed protein was N-terminal sequenced and begins with the following 10 amino acids: APTSSSTKKT.
Purity is >95% by SDS-PAGE analyses.

Activity: Determined by measuring the proliferation of mouse HEK-Blue cells.
Use: For in vitro applications. A dose-response assay should be performed to determine the optimal concentration.

Reconstitution and Dilution:

• Store lyophilized material at 4°C.
• Reconstitute in 1 mL of distilled or deionized water.
• Dilute in buffer containing carrier protein, aliquot, and store at or below -70°C.
• Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
• Suitable buffers: PBS with 1% BSA or neutral media containing <10% FCS.

Disruption of IL-2-like genes in mice leads to ulcerative colitis-like disease, underscoring IL-2’s essential role in immune regulation.
