Product Specific Information

This antibody is predicted to react with bovine, canine, chicken, mouse, non-human primate, sheep, Xenopus, and zebrafish based on 100% sequence homology.
It is specific for the ~29 kDa 14-3-3 protein phosphorylated at Ser58. Immunolabeling is blocked by preadsorption with the immunogen protein.


Target Information

14-3-3 is a family of acidic, soluble proteins highly conserved across species from yeast to mammals, expressed in all eukaryotic cells.
Seven isoforms (beta, gamma, epsilon, eta, zeta, sigma, tau/theta) are encoded by distinct genes and form homo- and heterodimeric cup-shaped structures.
14-3-3 proteins interact with more than 100 binding partners and regulate key proteins involved in signal transduction, cell cycle, transcriptional control, cell proliferation, apoptosis, and ion channel physiology.
This protein is abundantly expressed in the brain and detected in cerebrospinal fluid of patients with various neurological disorders.
