Preparation:
Produced in BALB/c × ICR F1 mice immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human sRANK Ligand.
Anti-Human sRANK Ligand-specific antibody was purified from cell culture by Protein G affinity chromatography.


Target Information

This gene encodes a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) cytokine family which is a ligand for osteoprotegerin and functions as a key factor for osteoclast differentiation and activation.
It also acts as a dendritic cell survival factor and regulates T cell-dependent immune responses.
Activation of T cells induces expression of this gene, increasing osteoclastogenesis and bone loss.
The protein activates antiapoptotic kinase AKT/PKB through a signaling complex involving SRC kinase and TRAF6, suggesting a role in apoptosis regulation.
Knockout studies in mice show severe osteopetrosis, lack of osteoclasts, and defects in T/B lymphocyte differentiation and mammary gland development.
Two alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified.
