PA3-008 detects P5 protein in human samples.
It has been successfully used in Western blot procedures, detecting an approximately 50 kDa protein representing P5 in human fibrosarcoma HT1080 cell lysate.
The immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues D(476)–E(492) of human P5 (Cat. # PEP-224), available for neutralization and control experiments.

Target Information

P5 is a novel human protein with peptide-binding and chaperone activity specific to certain proteins.
It shares structural similarities with PDI, an important ER protein, and contains the ER retention signal KDEL.
P5 includes two CXXC-like motifs responsible for oxidoreductase activity, located at both termini.
Studies indicate the N-terminal CXXC motif plays a more significant role in isomerase activity.
Unlike most PDI-like proteins, P5 is not stress-inducible.
