It has been successfully used in Western blot and immunofluorescence procedures.
By Western blot, this antibody detects a 57 kDa protein representing ERp57 in rat liver homogenate.
The immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues I(490) Q E E K P K K K K K A Q E D L(505) of human ERp57.
This peptide (Cat. # PEP-225) is available for use in neutralization and control experiments.
Target Information
This gene encodes a protein of the endoplasmic reticulum that interacts with lectin chaperones calreticulin and calnexin to modulate folding of newly synthesized glycoproteins.
Although previously thought to be a phospholipase, it has been shown to possess protein disulfide isomerase activity.
Complexes of lectins and this protein mediate protein folding by promoting disulfide bond formation in glycoprotein substrates.
