Product Specific Information

PA3-007 detects PDIR protein in human samples.
It has been successfully used in Western blot procedures.
By Western blot, this antibody detects an ~58 kDa protein representing PDIR in human fibrosarcoma HT 1080 cell lysate.
To a lesser extent, this antibody also detects two nonspecific bands at 47 and 30 kDa.
The immunogen peptide (Cat. # PEP-226) is available for neutralization and control experiments.

Target Information

PDIR (protein disulfide isomerase-related protein) is a novel PDI protein originally isolated from a human placental cDNA library.
It contains three CXXC-like motifs (Cys-Ser-Met-Cys, Cys-Gly-His-Cys, Cys-Pro-His-Cys) characteristic of the PDI superfamily, responsible for oxidoreductase activity.
PDIR also possesses a putative endoplasmic reticulum (ER) retention signal Lys-Glu-Glu-Leu at its carboxyl terminus, indicative of ER resident proteins.
Northern blot analysis shows preferential expression in cells actively secreting proteins, and expression is stress-inducible.
PDIR facilitates disulfide bond formation and protein folding within the ER lumen.
