Target Information
Placental Alkaline Phosphatase (PLAP)는 특정 염증성 질환 과정의 조절에 중요한 역할을 하는 효소입니다. 이 효소에는 intestinal, placental, placental-like, liver/bone/kidney 등 네 가지 주요 동종효소가 존재합니다. PLAP는 임신 3기 동안 태반에서 발현되는 막 결합형 isoenzyme(Regan 및 Nagao type)과 반응합니다.
이 단백질은 고환 생식세포 종양의 식별에 유용하며, PLAP 양성 체세포 종양은 일반적으로 epithelial membrane antigen (EMA)을 발현합니다.
PLAP의 기능 중 하나로 제안된 것은 기질 광물화(matrix mineralization)이며, 기능성 효소가 결여된 생쥐에서도 정상적인 골격 발달이 관찰됩니다.
PLAP는 고인산분해효소증(hypophosphatasia)과 직접적으로 연관되어 있으며, 이 질환은 고칼슘혈증과 골격 결함을 특징으로 합니다. 돌연변이의 종류에 따라 발현 시기와 증상의 심각도가 달라질 수 있습니다.
