Target Information
Placental Alkaline Phosphatase (PLAP)는 특정 염증성 질환 과정의 조절에 중요한 역할을 하는 효소입니다. Intestinal, placental, placental-like, liver/bone/kidney 등 네 가지 관련 알칼리 포스파타아제가 존재하며, 이 중 PLAP는 임신 3기 태반에서 발현되는 막 결합성 아이소효소(Regan 및 Nagao type)입니다.
PLAP는 고환 생식세포 종양의 식별에 유용하며, PLAP 양성 체세포 종양은 일반적으로 EMA를 발현합니다.
또한 PLAP는 기질 무기화(matrix mineralization)에 관여하는 것으로 제안되었으나, 해당 효소가 결핍된 생쥐에서도 정상적인 골격 발달이 관찰됩니다.
PLAP는 고인산분해효소증(hypophosphatasia)과 직접적으로 연관되어 있으며, 이는 고칼슘혈증 및 골격 결함을 특징으로 하는 질환입니다.
이 질환의 형태는 돌연변이의 종류에 따라 발병 시기와 증상의 정도가 달라질 수 있습니다.
