Product Specific Information

eBioTY/11.8 recognizes CD73, a 69-kDa GPI-anchored cell-surface protein with ecto-5'-nucleotidase activity. Expression on myeloid cells (CD11b) is restricted to bone marrow. In humans, CD73 can be induced to secrete a soluble form with IL-2, suggesting a role in activation signaling.
CD73 is expressed on subsets of lymphocytes and increases during maturation. Found on memory CD4 T cells and regulatory T cells, CD73 plays a role in differentiation between Th1 and Th2 pathways.

Each product includes:

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Mouse splenocytes, ≤0.125 µg/test (100 µL volume).
Empirical titration recommended for optimal performance.

Compatibility Note:
NovaFluor dyes are incompatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (propidium iodide, 7-AAD, DAPI).
Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains instead.

CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer Usage:
Add 5 µL per sample (10³–10⁸ cells) before combining with cells.
For single-color controls: 5 µL per 100 µL cell sample.

Target Information

CD73 (Ecto-5'-nucleotidase) catalyzes conversion of purine 5'-mononucleotides to nucleosides, primarily AMP. It forms a dimer of two 70 kDa subunits anchored via GPI linkage.
Used as a lymphocyte differentiation marker; deficiency associated with immunodeficiency diseases.
Gene localized to 6q14–q21; defects may cause joint and artery calcification, and intestinal tuberculosis.
Two transcript variants encode different isoforms.
