Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
The MDM2 protein is the primary regulator of p53 protein stability. MDMX (also known as MDM4) is an MDM2-related protein that inhibits MDM2-mediated degradation of p53 via distinct associations with MDM2.
The MDMX gene is often amplified in malignant gliomas. ARF interacts with MDMX to sequester it within the nucleolus, leading to increased p53 transactivation.
Expression of MDMX can counteract MDM2-mediated degradation of p53 while maintaining suppression of p53 transactivation. MDMX also binds p73, stabilizing its level and extending its half-life, in contrast to the regulation of p53.
