Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human Resistin. Anti-Human Resistin-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human Resistin by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human Resistin (500-P183) as a capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human Resistin.

Western Blot:
To detect Human Resistin by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. Used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human Resistin is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Adipose tissue functions as an energy reserve and produces numerous physiologically important proteins, such as lipoprotein lipase (LPL), leptin, Acrp30, perilipin, and resistin.
Resistin, also known as Adipocyte Secreted Factor (ADSF) and FIZZ3, is a cytokine secreted by adipocytes. It has suggested roles in type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance.
Studies indicate that resistin expression is regulated by transcription factors C/EBPα and coactivators CBP/p300, which acetylate histones at the resistin promoter region. PPARγ and RXR ligands have been shown to downregulate resistin expression in adipocytes.
