Preparation:
Produced from sera of goats immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human Resistin. The anti-Human Resistin antibody was purified by affinity chromatography using an immobilized Human Resistin matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
For detection of Human Resistin by sandwich ELISA (100 µL/well), use 0.5–2.0 µg/mL of this antibody. When used with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human Resistin (500-P183GBt) as a detection antibody, it enables detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human Resistin.

Western Blot:
For Western Blot analysis, use 0.1–0.2 µg/mL of this antibody. When used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human Resistin is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Adipose tissue serves as an energy reserve and secretes various regulatory proteins such as LPL, leptin, Acrp30, perilipin, and resistin.
Resistin, also known as Adipocyte Secreted Factor (ADSF) and FIZZ3, is a cytokine secreted by adipocytes. It plays a role in insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes. Elevated serum resistin levels have been observed in obese, diabetic mice, contributing to insulin antagonism and glucose intolerance.
Resistin gene expression depends on C/EBP alpha and is influenced by coactivators CBP and p300, which acetylate histones at the resistin promoter. PPAR gamma and RXR ligands have been shown to downregulate resistin expression in adipocytes.
