Product Specific Information

The L17F12 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD5, a 67 kDa protein expressed by most thymocytes, mature T cells, and a subset of B cells. CD5 signaling activates T cells and interacts with CD72 on B cells, playing a role in T-B cell interaction and proliferation.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and validated for flow cytometry using normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended usage: 5 µL (0.06 µg) per test in 100 µL final volume. Cell count range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Light Sensitivity: Protect from light due to photo-induced oxidation sensitivity.
Fixation: Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333-54) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark with minimal signal loss.
Excitation/Emission: 488–561 nm / 667 nm (Blue, Green, Yellow-Green lasers)
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

CD5 is a 67 kDa single-chain transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on human T lymphocytes, most thymocytes, and subsets of activated B cells. It plays a role in regulating T-cell proliferation and is associated with T-cell leukemias and lymphomas. CD5 expression is found on 95% of thymocytes and 72% of peripheral blood lymphocytes, with predominant expression in T cell areas of lymph nodes.
Diseases linked to CD5 dysfunction include thymus cancer and Richter’s Syndrome.
