Product Specific Information
Description:
The eBioH35-17.2 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse CD8 beta molecule. The CD8 beta chain associates with the CD8 alpha chain to form the CD8 alpha/beta heterodimer expressed on thymocytes and peripheral cytotoxic αβ T cells. CD8 binds to MHC class I and plays a role in T cell development and activation.
Applications Reported:
This antibody is reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes. Recommended ≤0.125 µg/test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Titrate for optimal performance.
Light Sensitivity:
This tandem dye is sensitive to photo-induced oxidation. Protect from light.
Fixation:
Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333-54) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark with minimal impact on brightness and FRET efficiency. Clone-specific performance should be confirmed empirically.

Target Information
The CD8B antigen is a cell surface glycoprotein found on cytotoxic T lymphocytes. It mediates cell-cell interactions and acts as a coreceptor with the T-cell receptor to recognize antigens presented by MHC class I molecules. The functional coreceptor can be a homodimer (alpha-alpha) or heterodimer (alpha-beta). Both chains share homology with immunoglobulin variable light chains. This gene encodes the CD8 beta chain isoforms, with multiple alternatively spliced variants. A pseudogene is also located on chromosome 2.
