Product Specific Information
The monoclonal antibody G9P3-1 reacts with human and mouse epithelial V-like antigen 1 (EVA1), also known as myelin protein zero-like 2 (MPZL2).
EVA1 is a low-affinity adhesion type I transmembrane glycoprotein with an immunoglobulin V-type domain. It is expressed in epithelial tissues and immature thymocytes at the DN3 stage (CD4⁻, CD8⁻, CD25⁺, CD44⁻). EVA1 plays a role in immature thymocyte development and thymic regeneration.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometry of mouse thymocytes. Use ≤ 0.5 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Optimal titration recommended.
Excitation / Emission: 488–561 nm / 578 nm (Blue, Green, Yellow-Green Laser).
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
Thymus development relies on interactions between thymocytes and stromal components. Epithelial V-like antigen (EVA) is expressed in thymus epithelium and downregulated as thymocytes mature.
EVA is homologous to myelin protein zero and associates with the cytoskeleton in thymus-derived epithelial cells. It mediates cell adhesion via homophilic interaction and is regulated by T cell maturation, suggesting a role in early thymus organogenesis.
The protein includes a V-type domain, two potential N-glycosylation sites, and a serine phosphorylation site for casein kinase 2. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein are known.
