Product Specific Information

Reconstitution: Add 25 µL, 50 µL, or 0.2 mL of double distilled water (DDW), depending on the sample size.
The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature. Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
The reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week. For longer storage, aliquot and keep at -20°C.
Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles. Centrifuge antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).

Target Information

Trpc6 forms a receptor-activated calcium channel in the cell membrane. The channel is activated by diacylglycerol (DAG) and functions independently of protein kinase C.
Defects in the TRPC6 gene are associated with focal segmental glomerulosclerosis 2 (FSGS2).
TRPC6 belongs to the “canonical TRP” (TRPC) family, which includes seven members activated through PLC-coupled receptors and involved in receptor-regulated cation channel activity.
Members of the TRPC3/6/7 subfamily can be activated by DAG analogs, suggesting a mechanism of activation via PLC-coupled receptors.
When expressed in transfected cells, TRPC6 acts as a non-selective, store-independent, receptor-activated cation channel.
Diseases associated with TRPC6 include Glomerulosclerosis, Focal Segmental, 2 and Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis.
