Reconstitution:

• Add 25 µL, 50 µL, or 0.2 mL of double-distilled water (DDW), depending on sample size.
• Ships as lyophilized powder at room temperature.
• Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
• Reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week.
• For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C.
• Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
• Centrifuge antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).

Target Information

TRPC4 is a member of the canonical subfamily of transient receptor potential cation channels. It forms a non-selective calcium-permeable cation channel activated by Gq-coupled receptors and tyrosine kinases. TRPC4 plays roles in endothelial permeability, vasodilation, neurotransmitter release, and cell proliferation.
Single nucleotide polymorphisms in TRPC4 may be associated with generalized epilepsy with photosensitivity.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed.

The TRPC family (TRPC1–7) is closely related to the Drosophila TRP channel. Diseases associated with TRPC4 include photosensitive epilepsy.
