Target Information

Voltage-dependent Ca²⁺ channels mediate Ca²⁺ entry into excitable cells in response to membrane depolarization, participating in processes such as muscle contraction, hormone or neurotransmitter release, and gene expression. These channels are multimeric complexes consisting of α1, β, α2/δ, and γ subunits.
T-type Ca²⁺ channels (including CaV3.1) activate and inactivate rapidly at more negative potentials, enhancing odor sensitivity by lowering the spike generation threshold in olfactory receptor cells.
