Target Information
DARPP-32 (Dopamine- and AMP-regulated phosphoprotein, 32 kDa) is associated with dopaminoceptive neurons.
When phosphorylated on Thr34, it inhibits Protein Phosphatase I; when phosphorylated on Thr75, it inhibits PKA.
Phosphorylation of DARPP-32 plays a critical role in dopaminergic neurotransmission and is implicated in the actions of alcohol, caffeine, and Prozac®.
