This antibody is predicted to react with bovine, chicken, canine, mouse, porcine, and rat based on sequence homology.
Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10–20 minutes followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
After antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
A suggested positive control is normal breast tissue.

Target Information

The DJ-1 gene product belongs to the peptidase C56 family of proteins. It acts as a positive regulator of androgen receptor-dependent transcription and may function as a redox-sensitive chaperone and oxidative stress sensor. It protects neurons against oxidative stress and cell death.
Defects in this gene cause autosomal recessive early-onset Parkinson disease 7.
Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified for this gene.
