Product Specific Information

The SJ25C1 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD19, a 95 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein expressed by B cells during all stages of development except terminally differentiated plasma cells. Follicular dendritic cells also express CD19. CD19 forms a complex with CD21, CD81, Leu13, and MHC class II, which associates with the BCR. Signaling through CD19 induces tyrosine phosphorylation, calcium flux, and proliferation of B cells. The SJ25C1 and HIB19 antibodies recognize overlapping epitopes.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended use: 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test in 100 µL final volume. Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Fluorochrome Information:
eFluor® 450 is an alternative to Pacific Blue®. It emits at 445 nm and is excited with a 405 nm violet laser. Ensure your instrument supports this fluorochrome.

Target Information

CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains. It is expressed on 100% of peripheral B cells and may also appear on certain myeloid leukemia cells. CD19 functions as a key regulator of normal and malignant B cell proliferation, serving as a co-receptor that lowers the activation threshold for antigen receptor signaling. Mutations in CD19 can lead to hypogammaglobulinemia, whereas overexpression may cause B cell hyperactivity.
