Product Specific Information

The 61D3 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD14, a 53–55 kDa GPI-linked glycoprotein expressed on monocytes, interfollicular macrophages, and some dendritic cells. Complexes of LPS and LBP bind with high affinity to monocytes through surface CD14.

• Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
• Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and validated for flow cytometry using normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended use: 5 µL (0.5 µg) per test (100 µL final volume).
• Fluorophore Information: eFluor® 450 is excited at 405 nm and emits at 445 nm, compatible with violet laser detection.
• Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

CD14 is a 55 kDa GPI-anchored glycoprotein constitutively expressed on mature monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils. It functions as a lipopolysaccharide receptor and exists in both membrane-bound and soluble forms. CD14 binds LPS in a reaction catalyzed by LBP and plays roles in immune recognition, inflammation, and apoptotic cell clearance. Dysregulation of CD14 is associated with infections and inflammatory diseases such as Croup and mycobacterium chelonae infection.
