Product Specific Information
The eBioCB16 monoclonal antibody recognizes CD16 (Fc gammaRIII), a low-affinity receptor for IgG (50–80 kDa).
CD16 includes two gene variants:
- CD16A (FcγRIIIA): Expressed on macrophages and NK cells, transmembrane-anchored.
- CD16B (FcγRIIIB): Expressed on neutrophils, GPI-anchored form.
Two polymorphisms (NA-1 and NA-2) exist; NA-2 homozygotes show reduced phagocytic capacity.
CD16 binds IgG immune complexes, with preference for IgG1 and IgG3, and mediates ADCC, phagocytosis, degranulation, and proliferation.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated for flow cytometry on normal human peripheral blood cells at 5 µL (0.25 µg)/test.
A test is defined as the amount of antibody to stain 10⁵–10⁸ cells in 100 µL volume.

Target Information
CD16 (FCGR3A) encodes a receptor recognizing the Fc portion of IgG, involved in immune complex clearance, cytotoxicity, and viral infection enhancement.
FCGR3A and FCGR3B share high similarity and are located on chromosome 1.
- FCGR3A: Expressed on NK cells, transmembrane-anchored.
- FCGR3B: Expressed on neutrophils, PI-anchored.
Mutations in FCGR3A are linked to Immunodeficiency 20, Herpes Zoster, and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus susceptibility.
Alternative splicing produces multiple isoforms.
