This antibody does not cross-react with recombinant IL-6 from mouse, rat, or pig.
Target Information
IL-6 encodes a cytokine involved in inflammation and B cell maturation. The protein acts as an endogenous pyrogen, inducing fever in autoimmune or infectious conditions. It is mainly expressed at inflammation sites and triggers transcriptional inflammatory responses via the IL-6 receptor alpha. IL-6 is implicated in various inflammation-associated diseases, including diabetes mellitus and systemic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Elevated IL-6 levels are also observed in viral infections such as COVID-19. Related diseases include Kaposi Sarcoma and Systemic Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis.
