MA3-071 detects 5-Bromo-2-deoxyuridine (BrdU) in various samples.
This antibody has been successfully used in immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry applications.
The immunogen is 5-iodouridine covalently coupled to ovalbumin.
Originally validated as part of a Thermo Scientific Cellomics High Content Screening Kit.
The antibody sold separately may require optimization for best results.
Target Information
Bromodeoxyuridine (5-bromo-2-deoxyuridine, BrdU) is a synthetic nucleoside and thymidine analogue.
BrdU is incorporated into newly synthesized DNA of replicating cells during the S phase, substituting for thymidine.
Antibodies specific for BrdU are used to detect proliferating cells by identifying incorporated BrdU.
Detection requires DNA denaturation, typically by acid or heat treatment.
