Description:
This CB9 monoclonal antibody reacts with human Granzyme A, the most abundantly expressed granzyme serine protease released from NK cells and cytotoxic T lymphocytes. Granzyme A induces caspase-independent cell death pathways similar to apoptosis and is involved in mitochondrial and DNA damage. It may also play a role in inflammation by targeting pro-IL-1 beta. Granzyme A shares overlapping substrate specificity with Granzyme K.

Applications Reported:

• Intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:

• Pre-titrated and validated for intracellular staining of stimulated normal human peripheral blood lymphocytes using Intracellular Fixation & Permeabilization Buffer Set (Product # 88-8824-00) and BestProtocols® Protocol A.
• Recommended use: 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test (100 µL final volume).
• Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Target Information

Cytolytic T lymphocytes (CTL) and natural killer (NK) cells recognize and lyse specific target cells bearing nonself antigens, typically from intracellular pathogens. Granzyme A is a serine protease specific to these cells and functions as a key component in target cell lysis mechanisms.
