Product Specific Information

A 1:1,000 dilution of MA5-45379 was sufficient for detection of CD74 in 15 µg of B-Cell Lymphoma cell line Raji by ECL immunoblot analysis using Goat Anti-Mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
Detects approximately 33 kDa protein.

Target Information

HLA-DR, like other MHC class II molecules, is a transmembrane glycoprotein composed of a 36 kDa alpha chain (DRA) and a 27 kDa beta chain (DRB).
The alpha chain gene contains 5 exons:

• Exon 1 encodes the leader peptide
• Exons 2 and 3 encode the extracellular domains
• Exon 4 encodes the transmembrane domain and cytoplasmic tail

DRA acts as the sole alpha chain for DRB1, DRB3, DRB4, and DRB5 and lacks polymorphisms in the peptide-binding region.
HLA-DR is expressed primarily on antigen-presenting cells such as B lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages, thymic epithelial cells, and activated T lymphocytes.
It plays a critical role in the initiation of immune responses by presenting processed peptides to T-helper cells.
